The Knights Training Academy have established a number of successful football academies in the UK, which have gained an outstanding reputation for excellence and success.
Working with a range of professional football clubs, Knights Training Academy deliver the combined full-time study programme whilst developing and nurturing footballing talent through UEFA qualified coaches and programmes based at the clubs.
Students attend the Academy daily to train and to undertake a 2 year BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Sports. The course covers a range of sports related units including: anatomy and physiology; assessing risk in sport; fitness testing for sport and exercise; sports nutrition and leadership.
Because the academies are based at professional football clubs, not only do students benefit from state of the art training facilities, they also get the opportunity to compete against top competition with an opportunity to be scouted.
Academy students have a number of progression routes to consider once the course is completed including moving onto university to pursue a career in PE teaching, coaching, sports management, sports science and journalism. Alternatively, some might be spotted and turn professional or progress into relevant employment or apprenticeship schemes.
All courses are open to talented footballers aged between 16-18 years. A playing trial and academic interview will be required as places are not offered solely on playing ability.
